Kathy and Lana have over 27 years combined experience working in country South Australia. They understand the many unique challenges country people face when trying to access Occupational Therapy services. OT Country Care is a mobile service ... WE COME TO YOU! OT Country Care provides a 'local' option for country SA clients and their families. OT Country Care staff will work with you, whether that be at home, in school or at your work place, to enable you to achieve your goals and participate in meaningful occupations. We believe that you are the experts when it comes to your own goals/aspirations/ health needs. We promise to listen and encourage active participation in your health care. |
Kathy Relihan
Kathy completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) at the University of South Australia, graduating with honours in 2003. She commenced her career with Country Health SA Local Health Network in Whyalla Hospital, where working as an Outreach Occupational Therapist she provided services to rural and remote communities in South Australia with the assistance of the Royal Australian Flying Doctor Service. Kathy has also lived and worked as an Occupational Therapist in Ceduna and Port Augusta. In her role as an outreach therapist, Kathy worked with a broad range of clients (Paediatrics through to Aged care) with a wide variety of medical conditions. Kathy has also worked as a Senior OT for a private Rehabilitation and Return to Work company. Throughout her career Kathy has provided OT services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients living in remote communities and worked collaboratively with Community Controlled Health Services. Kathy has worked across many Government funded programs and clinical settings. She has experience in the provision of Rehabilitation, Equipment prescription, Home modification prescription and Therapeutic interventions, as well as the facilitation of Primary Health Care programs. Kathy is an accredited Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS) assessor and has been approved to provide Complex Home Modifications for NDIS clients. Kathy is dedicated to providing a holistic client-centred service which promotes ‘enablement’, allowing clients to live to the fullest capacity possible. |
Lana Bagshaw
Lana graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) in 2008 from the University of South Australia. Lana has worked in both the Public and Private sector, across a wide range of clinical settings and programs, including: · Domiciliary Care/ Community Home Support Programs · Paediatrics (private) · Department of Veterans Affairs · Out of Hospital packages of care · Transitional Care Program Lana is an accredited Assessment of Motor Process Skills (AMPS) assessor. Lana is experienced in all aspects of Home Safety Assessments including home modifications, falls risk assessments (FROP-COM) and identifying hazards around the home. She has a wide knowledge of equipment prescriptions and liaising with external providers for long term supports. Lana prides herself on having a strong client-centred approach and her ability to build a good rapport with both her client and their families, at all times encouraging independence and promoting wellness |
Anita completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) in 2012 from the University of South Australia. Anita has worked with adults in the public and non-for-profit sectors in Australia and the United Kingdom across a range of clinical settings including:
Anita has experience in the provision of equipment, assistive technology, simple and complex home modifications, rehabilitation and therapeutic intervention. She also has experience in running group intervention and education sessions. Anita is passionate about gardening and nature, and the benefits it can bring to a person physically, mentally and emotionally, as well as the benefits it can bring in a person’s recovery and development. Anita also enjoys capturing nature through art and photography. Her goal is to combine nature as part of therapeutic intervention in occupational therapy. Anita has a friendly personality and enjoys helping people achieve their goals. |
Tori graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) with Honours from the University of South Australia in July 2017. Whilst studying, Tori gained 3 years experience working as a support worker with children.
Prior to joining OT Country Care in 2021, Tori has worked both in the paediatric and aged care (residential and community) space. Tori is passionate about working with her clients and their families, using a collaborative and holistic approach to help individuals reach their full potential through meaningful and engaging therapy sessions. Tori brings with her a sense of adventure, high work ethic and enthusiasm to her role. |
